They weren't mobilizing against students, but the outside agitators who helped them chain the doors from inside with materials students would not normally have. They took over a campus for weeks! So the school called in the police. They didn't just one day decide to come in and take everyone out on their own. But even if that wasn't the case, you can't just cede to demands from students locking down a campus like that.

It was an obscure movie from 1976 titled The Faking of the President. So, maybe he is not just a nepotism daddy to Ike Barinholtz and Jon Barinholtz because even if Alan could not act back then, at least he tried and went for it before starting a different career as a lawyer before having two kids who are longer-term actors than him. There's a lot more evidence, you're just picking a single one you can make fun of. They found leaflets training protestors to take over campus buildings, how to handle journalists, how to handle police questions and being arrested, etc. These protests were much much less about Gaza than they were about calling for Israel's destruction. Chants calling for Intifada, chants of "Burn Tel Aviv to the Ground", "We want all of it", "From the River to the Sea", etc. There were chants and banners in full support proscribed terrorist organisations; Hezoballah flags, PFLP flags, "Hamas, Hamas, We Love You, We love your Bombs and rockets too", comparisons of Hamas' October 7th massacres and mass rapes to the Warsaw Ghetto uprising, etc. And of course explicit antisemitism and violence, with Jewish students surrounded by dozens of protestors immobilising and intimidating them, human chains to block Jewish students from passing, several videos of students yelling at Jewish students to "Go back to Poland", pamphlets and signs saying "Death to America", "Death to Israel", "Death to Israelis", "Death to Zionists", etc. These protests were the opposite of peaceful. They were on the side of calling for the wholesale destruction of the other.
